The Community Library is a Resource for Everyone

One of the Tocker Foundation’s primary goals is to help rural libraries serve the needs of all the community members. From the very young, to the often under-served teen community, to the retired—the library should be a place to gather, share ideas, and learn. To that end, a primary shift in libraries that is occurring—a basic philosophy of organization. The long-held idea of libraries created from a librarian-centric philosophy is now shifting to a user-centric philosophy. An organization of libraries based on users wants and needs is required.  This shift is often realized through the modernization and automation of traditional resource. Tocker Foundation is assisting libraries across the state in realizing this goal.
